Since I never!

(The title is meant to be read in an "Well, I never!" tone. But it probably didn't work as well as I hoped.)

Since this is meant to be a place of things that happen to cross my mind, I've been thinking of Lorina a lot lately.
Lorina is Alice Liddell's sister. Alice Liddell is the Alice from Alice's Adventure's in Wonderland.

To me Lorina is much different than her sister. She is a little older. And likes to read books. But she is a little less curious. She would rather wait for the train and read than wander off because she got bored.
Unless she's dragged there.

I'm wondering how old she is in my mind. She's at least 13 or 14.

While she's at the train station one day, it's raining and she's reading her book. A boy takes notice of her. His name is Louis.

And he takes her on a much different ride than she expected. Though, not under the ground, but into the sky.

And then I must begin on steampunk. For he is very much steampunk. A pilot. She lives in the world that is steampunk, so she has some jewelry and whatnot. Meh, she doesn't seem to participate too much in what is steampunk. Perhaps she's at the beginning of the age.

She hates Louis.
I still don't know why. Maybe it's because she usually has to run with him. For a long time. Being chased by things.
And he does make fun of her quite a bit. It's rather easy with a name like Liddell.

...
"My name is Miss Liddell." Haughtyish Pout.
"Well, it's nice to meet you Miss Little. Your name fits you well."

Eventually she will hit him with her bag, but I don't think quite at that point.

Nothing I'm saying is making any sense.

But that may be an effect of Lewis Carroll.

Forage into a Strange World

"Forage" is probably the wrong word to use. As usual. Maybe I should buy a thesaurus. Or I could use one online.

SO! I was thinking of making this a place to put my most random thought processes. And perhaps when I get to a point where I'm not in close contact with people I know in different states and whatever, actual updates on life.

My most recent random thought process has been about a post-apocalyptic world.
When trying to create one it raises many questions:

What destroyed the world?
How did the survivors survive?
What do they do to continue life?
Where do they live?
Are there any new creatures that arised from the aftermath of the apocalypse?
Are they dangerous to the survivors?
Are there different factions of survivors?
Or did they all end up together?
What is used for currency?
Or is there no currency? Did they revert to a bartering society?
What do they eat?
What kind of crops can be grown in the soil?
Are there new plants?
Has technology advanced or reverted?

All this came from the fact that there has been one chick staring down the barrel of her gun at me for a very long time. Her gun looked rather modern. I figured she'd hold her own in a post-apocalyptic world. She didn't fit in any other world I've found. And she's killed whatever has been behind me so cooly I didn't really want to meet her. But she finally introduced herself. Still don't know her name, but she's rebuffing advances left and right, apparently. She probably doesn't tell many people her name.
Thinking about all this makes me want to play Fallout. Which is one of the only complicated-looking games I've ever had the desire to play.
That chick would fit well into a world like that.
